The memorial celebrates the centenary of the foundation of British aviation on Sheppey. WAM were asked to provide the support for an already commisioned scaled metal replica of an early flying machine. The support design was shaped to give the appeareance of movement to the replica and uses welded sheets of Corten Steel.
