As part of the Vitra 50th celebration of the Panton chair Walker and Martin were asked to customise a chair for display in the Saatchi Gallery which was later auctioned off with proceeds going to Shelter.
The original Panton chair was the first to be moulded from a single piece of raw material. Our interest was in the act of moulding and so we took a low-tech approach by moulding a “shadow” made from papier mache. We used Danish newspapers as Verner Panton was Danish
