Externally the building form uses traditional materials in an innovative and exciting new way. The location and orientation was important to make the most of passive solar design principles and the natural undulating topography of the site. Internally the space is optimised and encapsulates a maximum flexibility approach under one big roof, providing open plan areas, social hubs, meeting spaces, cafes, games and training rooms. This 2500 sqM building won the Kent Building Design Award 2003.
